United Cargobike — The Bullitt Tailor
March 19, 2026
If Larry vs Harry built the platform, Norbert Wudick built the proof that it works.
Norbert runs United Cargobike out of Germany. What started after discovering the Bullitt at Eurobike in 2010 has become one of the most creative custom Bullitt workshops in the world.
Beyond accessories
Most aftermarket makers build things that go ON the Bullitt. Norbert cuts into the frame itself.
He developed the first Pinion-powered Bullitt — removing the standard bottom bracket and fitting a new one to accept a Pinion gearbox. When the Pinion MGU launched, Norbert had a working prototype in short order.
He also shortened the Bullitt by 22cm to create the Shorty — a more nimble version for tight urban spaces. Larry vs Harry added 22cm with the Bullitt X. Norbert removed 22. The ecosystem works both ways.
And then there's the Beer Bullitt — a fully integrated Bottoms Up dispensing system inside an aluminum cargo box. Functional, road-safe, and unlike anything else on two wheels.
Why he matters for OpenCargo
Norbert is featured on the Larry vs Harry blog as "The Bullitt Tailor." But most aftermarket makers don't have that visibility. They sell through their own websites, their own social media, their own word of mouth.
That's what OpenCargo is for. We map the ecosystem so that someone looking for a specific solution — a motor retrofit, a custom frame modification, a cable steering conversion — can find who's already built it.
