About OpenCargo

OpenCargo is an independent directory for the cargo bike aftermarket. We map who makes what, for which platform, and help riders find what fits their bike.

The project started in March 2026 when Vincent, who works at Larry vs Harry in Copenhagen and rides a Bullitt daily, realized that the aftermarket ecosystem had grown too large for any single website to catalog. Makers across multiple countries were building boxes, bags, seats, canopies, wheels, and modifications for the Bullitt — but most riders had no idea they existed.

So yes: this is written by someone who works inside the cargo bike industry. That is the reason the directory takes no money from bike makers, including his own employer. Larry vs Harry is listed here on the same terms as everyone else, has no say in what appears, and gets no better placement for it. Working in the trade is what makes the catalog accurate; it is also why the rules below have to be strict.

OpenCargo covers commercial accessories for platforms like the Bullitt, Omnium, Muli, and Christiania — plus free community designs for Urban Arrow, Riese & Müller, Tern, Yoonit, Aventon, and more. We list over 396 products from 52 makers across 13 countries. We add platforms when there are enough independent makers to justify a dedicated page.

What OpenCargo is not:

Not a shop — we don't sell anything. Not a comparison site with paid rankings or sponsored listings. Not limited to one brand or country. No maker can buy a listing, a position, a category or a badge, and no bike manufacturer pays us anything. Every listing is here because it exists and fits, not because someone paid for placement.

How it is paid for:

Running this costs money, so some of it will eventually be sponsored — a partner in a category like insurance or security, or a referral link where a service is relevant to what you are reading. Two rules make that safe to read: it is always labelled on the page it appears on, and it never decides what gets listed or in what order. If those two ever come apart, the sponsorship goes, not the rule.
